About Me

My Island Blog is about my perspectives of being an indigenous woman living in today’s conflicting worlds. I am using My Island Blog as a way to express my thoughts, views, beliefs, and feelings of our worlds.

My Island Blog is also used to share content that can connect each other, because no matter where we are in life, we are all on the same “island”, Our Earth, Our Mother Earth.

About Me: I am an Indigenous Native Hawaiian woman. I’m currently a graduate student at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, studying Social Work. I’m involved with organizations that act through advocating for our communities here in Hawaiʻi and Internationally. My goal is to work with indigenous communities and build a resilient network of international groups. I hope that one day my children’s children’s children, will live in a world of peace for other groups and respect for everyone’s culture and roots, while still thriving in their own.

I am excited to have joined the Word Press community and hope to meet new friends to connect with. I also hope to spread the knowledge of my kupuna, my elders, and the illegal occupations happening here today in Hawaiʻi.
